Groppello Metodo Classico Extra Brut: The Visionary, High-Altitude Masterpiece
The Groppello Metodo Classico Extra Brut by Lasterosse is a sparkling wine that demands attention—a brilliant, distinctive bottle that stands out from the very first sip. This premium label is the ultimate, elegant expression of an ancient grape variety, Groppello, shaped by a challenging and breathtaking mountain terroir. It is a rare and sophisticated Blanc de Noirs crafted from 100% Groppello grapes harvested entirely by hand at a heroic altitude of 730 meters above sea level.
This sparkling wine is a true masterpiece of immense personality, born in 2012 from the forward-thinking and courageous technical vision of the estate’s owner, Pietro. His intuition pioneered a completely new path for this historic local variety, transforming it into a world-class sparkling experience refined by a long, patient maturation on the lees for at least 40 months.
In the glass, it reveals a vibrant, razor-sharp, and luminous profile. The nose unfolds with an incredibly fine and elegant bouquet, where crisp notes of wild red berries and citrus zest seamlessly intertwine with freshly baked brioche, alpine herbs, and a distinct, crystalline minerality born of high altitudes. On the palate, the entry is brilliantly vertical and bone-dry, as expected from an authentic Extra Brut, yet wonderfully balanced by a deep structural complexity and a creamy, persistent perlage. The finish is endlessly savory, clean, and refreshing. An aristocratic and exclusive bubble, it pairs phenomenally with seafood crudités, shellfish, beef tartare, or artisanal mountain cheeses.
